Frederick, MD – Dr. Perry Inhofe, a 51-year-old orthopedic surgeon from Tulsa and the son of Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.,) was piloting a twin-engine Mitsubishi MU-2B-25 near Owasso, Oklahoma Nov. 10 when the plane went down in a heavily wooded area.
“All of us at AOPA were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Inhofe,” said Mark Baker, president of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). “Sen. Inhofe is an accomplished pilot and a staunch advocate for general aviation, and flying has been an important part of the Inhofe family’s personal and professional lives for decades. I wish to offer my support and prayers to the entire Inhofe family in their grief.”
