Training on TRAC
Training on TRAC
Cirrus Aircraft flew to the head of the general aviation pack by introducing its composite-built single-engine airplanes of the SR20 and SR22 lines, recognizable by their fixed landing gear, gull-wing doors, side-stick controllers, and three-bladed propellers. The 215-horsepower SR20 especially has found function as both a trainer and a personal or business aircraft. To further tailor the aircraft for training missions, Cirrus recently introduced variants of both models as the TRAC line, with features including a landing-gear handle (for procedures practice) and of course, two-screen glass cockpits and backup analog instruments.
Final Exam
Question

I am a student pilot preparing to take my private pilot practical test. The examiner wants me to plan a flight through the Los Angeles Class B airspace. I have never flown through that airspace and do not have an endorsement to do so. Should I tell him I cannot do that?
Answer
No. Plan the flight. Although you are a student, you are being tested as if you were a private pilot, and a private pilot can fly through Class B airspace. The planning may be the basis of many of the examiner's oral questions as well, so be prepared!

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training?
