Question of the Week
Question

Can a pilot who is not night current legally carry passengers between the end of evening civil twilight (as defined in FAR 1.1) and one hour after sunset?
Answer
Yes, that is legal. Whether it's a good idea is something to consider based on proficiency and the chance of getting caught in the air when the clock runs out. Unless the pilot is both FAR 61.57(b)-current and night proficient, it would be prudent to be on the ground no more than 30 minutes after sunset.
