Question of the Week
Question

I'm planning to equip my aircraft with ADS-B soon, but the shop I want to use is located at the local Class C airport. I know I need ADS-B Out to enter Class C airspace since the FAA mandate took effect on January 2. What's my best option?
Answer
You'll need to use the FAA's ADS-B Deviation Authorization Preflight Tool (ADAPT) to make a request to do your flight. You can make your request no more than 24 hours before and no less than one hour before your flight. See AOPA's ADAPT Fact Sheet for more information.

This question and answer were provided by AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Got a question for our technical services staff? Contact AOPA.
