Final Exam
Question

If I take off on Monday and land on Tuesday, which date should I enter in the logbook?
Answer
FAR 61.51 requires pilots to log the date of a flight, so, if you took off on May 10 at 11:30 p.m. and landed on May 11 at 1 a.m., you could log it as 5/10–5/11/21. For currency purposes, log the takeoff on May 10 and the landing on May 11, which is when each would have occurred. Read the full answer and join the discussion >

This discussion is from our online Pilot Information Center, where you can ask questions, contribute answers, earn badges, and join our growing pilot community online. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training?
