Question of the Week
Question

What should I do in the event of a laser strike during flight?
Answer
According to this FAA Advisory Circular, you should report the incident "to the appropriate ATC controlling facility" or, if you are flying in Class G airspace, "immediately broadcast a general laser illumination caution on the appropriate UNICOM frequency." After landing, report the incident via the FAA website (there is even a mobile-friendly version). For additional information, see this AOPA Online article. Join the discussion >
