Frustration mounts as aircraft registration delays continue
A four-month-plus backlog of aircraft registration applications has left many aircraft owners in a bind. New registration applicants can apply for an extension via email if all documents have been submitted. Existing aircraft registrations can be renewed online, while mailed applications may be rejected if submitted more than six months prior to registration expiration—and may not be processed before expiration if submitted less than five months before the registration expires. The FAA considers airworthiness certificates "ineffective" without a valid registration.

Final Exam
Question

I recently had cataract surgery, and my physician completed Form 8500-7. I am flying under BasicMed, so what do I do with that form?
Answer
You may keep it in your files in case your BasicMed physician asks to see it. Forms like this are common and typically used when applying for a medical certificate, but they are not required for BasicMed. Physicians have a list of 22 items to check in the course of a BasicMed examination, but there is no requirement to provide supplementary information.
