The live event will feature a conversation between AOPA Director of Airspace, Air Traffic, and Security Jim McClay and CBP General Aviation Program Managers Eric Rodriguez and Drew Wescott. They have been collaborating for several years and are teaming up to educate pilots and make border screenings as easy and stress-free as possible.

Attendees will be briefed on several topics, including how to approach border screenings; common mistakes pilots make when clearing customs; and recent efforts to educate pilots and CBP officers on ways to improve and streamline the process.

In addition, the webinar hosts are dedicating more than half of the time to answer frequently asked questions and questions from attendees.

“We’re excited about this upcoming conversation and encourage any GA pilots who plan to cross the border to attend,” said McClay.

The webinar will be held via Microsoft Teams, and no registration is required. Attend the meeting by clicking on this link on May 3 at 1 p.m. Eastern time.

The conversation will not be recorded, but AOPA and CBP hope to collaborate again for similar information sessions. Pilots who aren’t able to attend are also encouraged to contact AOPA if they have any questions or concerns.
