Aircraft owners still have time to participate in a general aviation activity survey used by the FAA to develop policies, allocate resources and make decisions about safety.
Members who were contacted about the survey by mail are urged to take part in the online survey known as General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey by Nov.30. Responses to the survey are kept anonymous.
Postcards were sent to a randomly selected sample of owners with aircraft registered as of Dec. 31, 2011, but owners can also complete the survey without an invitation. The survey is conducted by an independent research firm for the FAA.
AOPA reported on Sept. 13 that the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association were also encouraging participation, with LAMA eager to see a more accurate picture emerge of light sport aircraft activity and safety.
“The online survey is the only source for this important information,” says a welcome message on the survey’s home page.
