Question of the Week
Question

I earned my initial Part 107 certificate two years ago this March. I always keep a current flight review. What else do I need to do to maintain my currency?
Answer
According to FAR 107.65, a remote pilot certificated under Part 107 who also holds a Part 61 pilot certificate with a current flight review can establish Part 107 currency with one more step: You will need to complete the FAA's Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Recurrent course and retain the completion certificate in your records to prove currency. Part 61 pilots who do not have a current flight review and remote pilots who do not also hold a Part 61 pilot certificate must have passed a written exam within 24 calendar months, and that test report should be retained to establish remote pilot currency.
