Question of the Week
Question

I recently received a request from a rusty pilot for a checkout and flight review in a Piper PA–22-108 Colt, but we live in different states. Does AOPA or the FAA have listings by state of active CFIs?
Answer
AOPA no longer maintains an instructor database, and the FAA's pilot database is not designed to help search for instructors. The National Association of Flight Instructors links to Instructair, where the pilot can search for a local tailwheel CFI without having to sift through single-engine CFIs who don't fit the bill.
