Question

How do I add another owner to my aircraft registration?
Answer
Unfortunately, you cannot just "add" another person to the aircraft registration. You must sell the aircraft to yourself and the new co-owner. The process is fairly simple: Draft a bill of sale (FAA Form 8050-2) with your name as the seller, and list yourself and the new party as purchasers. Then draft a registration application (FAA Form 8050-1) listing both of you as co-owners. Send these documents to the FAA Aircraft Registration Branch, along with the $5 recording fee.
