Question of the Week
Question

My Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit issued by the Federal Communications Commission has no expiration date, but it does have my physical address printed on the document. If I move, do I need to pay the FCC to issue a new permit?
Answer
The FCC does not make this clear, though there is no published requirement to update the printed address. Amateur radio operators are required to do so, so it is not a bad idea, and the FCC does not charge a fee for an address change on amateur licenses, according to the online FCC guidance on this topic.
