Question of the Week
|
Question
My Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit issued by the Federal Communications Commission has no expiration date, but it does have my physical address printed on the document. If I move, do I need to pay the FCC to issue a new permit? |
|
| Answer |
The FCC does not make this clear, though there is no published requirement to update the printed address. Amateur radio operators are required to do so, so it is not a bad idea, and the FCC does not charge a fee for an address change on amateur licenses, according to the online FCC guidance on this topic.
