Final Exam
Question

I recently received my private pilot certificate and am considering getting a basic ground instructor certificate. Is the basic flight instructor test the same knowledge test I took for my private pilot certificate? Also, what books on the FAA website cover the fundamentals of instruction?
Answer
The basic ground instructor test is essentially a rehash of the private pilot knowledge test. The fundamentals of instruction test covers the contents of the Aviation Instructor's Handbook. You don't need to take the fundamentals of instruction test if you're a certified teacher at the seventh grade level or higher, or teaching at an accredited college or university.
