Question of the Week
|
Question
I'm trying to help a friend reconstruct a lost logbook. What can we use to help substantiate the hours when a logbook is lost? |
Answer |
The FAA's Order 8900.1 provides guidance in the case of lost logbooks. For proof of experience, the FAA says that an airman can use aircraft logbooks, receipts, operator records, airman medical files, or copies of FAA Form 8710-1 (airman certificate/rating applications). Pilots can request copies of FAA Form 8710-1 and medical records from the FAA.
This question and answer were provided by AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Got a question for our technical services staff? Contact AOPA. |
