Question of the Week
Question

With the days getting longer it is harder to stay night current. What is the definition of night as it applies to landing currency, and where can I find it?
Answer
There are a handful of definitions of "night" when it comes to the federal aviation regulations, but for landing currency night is defined as one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise (see FAR 61.57(b)). If you're curious about the other definitions and what they apply to, or you just want a refresher, read this AOPA article.
