Question of the Week
|
Question
I've restarted instrument training after a long hiatus and recently got my logged actual/simulated instrument hours over the 40-hour minimum set forth in the federal aviation regulations (including 10 hours in previous simulator training), but I'm not ready for a checkride. Can I use an FAA-approved sim for as much additional training as my CFII deems necessary to get me ready for a checkride (aside from the 250-mile cross-country, which must be flown in an airplane)? |
Answer |
Yes, as long as you've already met the 40-hour requirement without using more than 10 hours in a basic aviation training device, or 20 hours in an advanced aviation training device (or other approved device).
