Question of the Week
Question

If I am renting an aircraft to brush up on complex aircraft operations and my planned flight is longer than the time left before the 100-hour inspection is due, can I take this aircraft on my trip without violating the requirement for 100-hour inspections?
Answer
Yes. Because you're renting the aircraft and serving as the pilot (one is not being provided), and the aircraft is not being operated to carry someone for hire, the inspection can be overflown. The 100-hour inspection must be completed before the aircraft can be offered for flight instruction again. Read the full answer and join the discussion >
